Outlines how notifications from the Adyen payments platform work for Point of Sale.
In an integrated set up, the Merchant’s back-end can receive real-time payment information in the form of notifications from the Adyen payments platform.
Notifications include new reports on the outcome of transactions and financial reporting, referenced refunds, the creation of recurring contracts, etc. Examples for useful application of notifications are:
- Refund requests: Refunds are processed asynchronously by the Adyen payments platform. A response confirms the receipt of the request. In the rare event a refund can not be processed, contact our POS Support Team and, if possible, the shopper to find an alternative way of refunding the shopper.
- Offline transactions: For offline transactions the
pspReferenceis generated by the Adyen payments platform and sent in a notification. This value should be stored for use in Refunds.
- Reports: Notifications are also sent when a report is generated, allowing you to automate report retrieval.
