Board the terminal - V400m

Board a terminal to register and use it with the Adyen payments platform.

Before you begin

Boarding with the Adyen Customer Area

  1. Log in to the Adyen Customer Area with your credentials.
  2. Switch to the merchant account to board the terminal with.
    1. Click Customize this page.
      A widget dock appears.
    2. Drag the Point-of-Sale widget from the widget dock to columns on the page.
    3. Click Done.
  3. On the Point-of-Sale widget, click Board terminal.
    1. Under Register Terminal, specify whether your terminal is integrated with a cash register.

    2. Under Receipt, review the printer status and custom receipt lines.

    3. Under Terminal(s), enter the terminal type, serial number (found on the back of the terminal), and the merchant account to board the terminal with.

    4. Click Add more to board more terminals.

    5. Click Register.
    6. Click "Show one time password".
  4. On the terminal screen, tap "Board the terminal".
    1. Enter your one-time password.
      The terminal may reboot more than once.
    2. After rebooting, the terminal will receive the merchant configuration, and you can begin processing payments.

Board the terminal with the Adyen POS App

Prepare to board

  1. Press 9 and then press   to open the admin menu. 
  2. Enter the admin PIN code (If you don't know this code, contact the POS Support Team).
    The terminal displays the admin menu.
  3. Press 1. Network.
  4. Press 1. Connection Status.
  5. Make a note of the terminal's IP address.
  6. Download and install the Adyen POS App from iTunes or the Google Play Store.

Board with an Android device

  1. Open the Adyen POS App.
  2. Enter your account details. These were provided in the registration email of your merchant account. If you do not have these, please email the POS Support Team.
  3. Tap .
  4. Tap Available Devices.
  5. Tap the + button . 
  6. The app will prompt to select between QR Code, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection. Choose WiFi.
  7. Enter the IP address of your terminal and tap Add Device.
  8. The Adyen POS App identifies the terminal, synchronizes with the Adyen payments platform, and verifies the terminal configuration.
    The terminal restarts. Upon restart, the terminal is boarded and ready to use.

Board with an iOS device

  1. Open the Adyen POS App on the mobile device.
  2. Tap the   icon.
  3. Tap the '+' at the top of the Payment device popup menu.
  4. Enter the device hostname or IP.
  5. The device will now be listed in the Payment device menu with the status "Not Boarded".
  6. Tap the name of the device. The device displays a message saying the device is not configured, with options to Cancel or Board device.
  7. Tap Board Device.
    The terminal begins boarding and restarts. Upon restart, the terminal is boarded and ready to be used.
