## Cause

Adyen APIs return this error when:

* The API credential does not have sufficient permission to perform the requested operation.

## Solution

Check your API credential. If you are certain that you are using the correct credential, you can:

* For Management API: Reach out to your admin user so they can check the API permissions.
* For other APIs: Contact [Support Team](https://ca-test.adyen.com/ca/ca/contactUs/support.shtml?form=other) to ask for additional permissions.

## Error codes

Find the specific cause and solution for each error code.

### 00\_403 - Forbidden

**Cause**: The user has insufficient rights to perform the requested operation.\
**Solution**: Change the API credential or reach out to your Adyen contact to request permissions.
