{"title":"Multifactor authentication","category":"default","creationDate":1778669839,"content":"<div class=\"notices green\">\n<p>Starting on March 26, 2024, all Essentials users must use multifactor authentication to log in, unless they use Single Sign-On (SSO) to log in.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Multifactor authentication (MFA) helps keep your account safe by requiring multiple forms of verification in order to log in. This prevents unauthorized users from accessing your account, even if they have managed to obtain your username and password.<\/p>\n<p>With multifactor authentication enabled, you must complete logging into your  <a href=\"https:\/\/essentials-live.adyen.com\/essentials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Essentials<\/a> by entering an authentication code from your mobile device. An authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Okta Verify, or Microsoft Authenticator) generates the code on your mobile device.<\/p>\n<h2>Set up multifactor authentication<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>In your <a href=\"https:\/\/essentials-live.adyen.com\/essentials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Essentials<\/a>, select your name from the left navigation bar &gt; <strong>Profile<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Multifactor authentication<\/strong>, select <strong>Add new method<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select your MFA method and set it up.\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#authenticator-app\">Authenticator app<\/a>: a mobile application that generates time-based one-time passwords (TOTPs) to log in to online accounts.
