Each user can have one or more <a href=\"#roles\">roles<\/a>, determining which permissions the user has.<\/p>\n<p>You first get an admin login user for the person whose details were used in the onboarding process. The admin user can then <a href=\"#create\">create new users<\/a> for other people in the team.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"view\">View all users<\/h2>\n<p>To view users, you need to have the <strong>Merchant user management<\/strong> <a href=\"#roles\">user role<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/essentials-live.adyen.com\/essentials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Essentials<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Users<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You'll see a list of all users, the merchant accounts they have access to, and when they last logged in.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"lightbox\" href=\"\/user\/pages\/docs\/29.essentials\/14.users\/users-list-essentials.png\" src=\"\">\n  <img alt=\"\" src=\"\/user\/pages\/docs\/29.essentials\/14.users\/users-list-essentials.png\" \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"create\">Create a new user<\/h2>\n<p>To create new users, you need to have the <strong>Merchant user management<\/strong> <a href=\"#roles\">user role<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To create a new user:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/essentials-live.adyen.com\/essentials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Essentials<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Users<\/strong>, and select <strong>Create new user<\/strong> in the upper-right corner.<\/li>\n<li>Enter a username and email address of the new user.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Create new user<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The new user receives an email with a link to generate a password for their <a href=\"https:\/\/essentials-live.adyen.com\/essentials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Essentials<\/a> account. This link expires after 24 hours. If the link expires, you need to <a href=\"#password-reset-email\">send a password reset email<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new user has all the <a href=\"#roles\">default roles<\/a>. A user can have one or more roles, depending on which tasks they need to perform. If you have several merchant accounts, you can also change which accounts the user has access to.<\/p>\n<p>To keep your account safe, each user can only give access to accounts and roles that their own user already has. For example, if your user does not have <strong>View Payments<\/strong> role, you can not assign this role to new or existing users. The same applies to merchant accounts.<\/p>\n<p>To add or remove user roles, you need to have the <strong>Merchant user management<\/strong> <a href=\"#roles\">user role<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To add or remove user roles:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/essentials-live.adyen.com\/essentials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Essentials<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Users<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the user from the <strong>User List<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThis opens the <strong>User details<\/strong> page.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Roles<\/strong> or <strong>Account<\/strong> access, and then <strong>Edit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Make your changes.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"deactivate\">Deactivate a user<\/h2>\n<p>If a user should no longer have access to your account, for example because they left your company, you need to deactivate the user.
