# Alipay

With over 100 million daily transactions and over 520 million active users, Alipay is the most widely used third-party online payment service provider in China. This makes Alipay a key payment methods that you should offer to expand your business to reach Chinese shoppers who are abroad.

Global merchants can allow shoppers to buy from their online stores or mobile apps through Alipay, and also offer Alipay as an in-store payment method overseas.

Alipay is only available for merchants that are selling outside of China. Adyen does not support processing Alipay payments within China.

When a transaction is initiated through Alipay, the [offer](https://help.adyen.com/knowledge/payments/payment-basics/what-is-an-offer-and-how-do-i-search-for-one) stays open for 12 hours. This means shoppers can complete their payment up to 12 hours after it was initiated.
