MoMo Wallet Component

Add MoMo Wallet to an existing Components integration.

Our MoMo Wallet Component renders MoMo Wallet in your payment form. When making an MoMo Wallet payment, you additionally need to use createFromAction to handle the redirect to MoMo Wallet and back to your website.

Before you begin

This page explains how to add MoMo Wallet to your existing Web Components integration. The Web Components integration works the same way for all payment methods. If you haven't done this integration yet, refer to our Components integration guide.

Before starting your MoMo Wallet integration:

  1. Make sure that you have set up your back end implementation, and created an instance of AdyenCheckout.
  2. Add MoMo Wallet in your test Customer Area.

Show MoMo Wallet in your payment form

To show MoMo Wallet Component in your payment form, you need to:

  1. Specify in your /paymentMethods request:
  2. Add the MoMo Wallet Component:
    a. Create a DOM element for MoMo Wallet, placing it where you want the form to be rendered:

Make a payment

When the shopper selects to pay, the Component calls the onChange event, which contains a state.data.

  1. If state.isValid is true, collect the state.data and pass this to your server.

  2. From your server, make a /payments, specifying:

    • paymentMethod: The state.data.paymentMethod from the onChange event from your front end.
    • returnUrl: The URL where the shopper will be redirected back to after completing the payment. The URL should include the protocol: http:// or https://. For example, https://your-company.com/checkout/. You can also include your own additional query parameters, for example, shopper ID or order reference number.

    The /payments response contains:

    • action: Object containing information about the redirect.
    • action.paymentData: Store this on your server — you need to submit this in your /payments/details request when handling the redirect.
    • action.method: GET or POST. The HTTP request method that you should use. After the shopper completes the payment, they will be redirected back to your returnURL using the same method.
      The redirect method depends on your payment method configuration and the length of the data included in the request, so make sure that your integration can handle both HTTP GET and HTTP POST methods.

  3. Pass the action object to your front end.

Handle the redirect

  1. Call createFromAction and pass the action object from the previous step. This will return a new Component that you need to mount:
       checkout.createFromAction(action).mount('#my-container');

    The Component redirects the shopper to MoMo Wallet to complete the payment.

  2. After the shopper is redirected back to your website, check the payment result by making a /payments/details request, specifying:

    • paymentData: Value you received in the /payments response.
    • details: Object that contains the URL-decoded values of the parameters that were returned when the shopper was redirected back to your site. For example, payload. To check the parameters that you should submit, refer to the details.key returned in the /payments response.

    You receive a response containing:

    • resultCode: Use this to present the result to your shopper.
    • pspReference: Our unique identifier for the transaction.

Present the payment result

Use the resultCode that you received in the /payments/details response to present the payment result to your shopper.

The resultCode values you can receive for MoMo Wallet are:

resultCode Description Action to take
Authorised The payment was successful. Inform the shopper that the payment has been successful.
Cancelled The shopper cancelled the payment while on MoMo Wallet's website or app. Ask the shopper whether they want to continue with the order, or ask them to select a different payment method.
Pending The shopper has completed the payment but the final result is not yet known. Inform the shopper that you've received their order, and are waiting for the payment to be completed.

To know the final result of the payment, wait for the AUTHORISATION notification webhook.
Refused The payment was refused by MoMo Wallet. Ask the shopper to try the payment again using a different payment method.

If the shopper failed to return to your website or app, wait for notification webhooks to know the outcome of the payment. The notification webhooks you can receive for MoMo Wallet are:

eventCode success field Description Action to take
AUTHORISATION false The transaction failed. Cancel the order and inform the shopper that the payment failed.
AUTHORISATION true The shopper successfully completed the payment. Inform the shopper that the payment has been successful and proceed with the order.
OFFER_CLOSED true The shopper did not complete the payment. Cancel the order and inform the shopper that the payment timed out.

Recurring payments

MoMo Wallet supports recurring transactions. To make recurring transactions, you need to:

  1. Create a shopper token.
  2. Use the token to make future payments for the shopper.

Create a token

To create a token, include in your /payments request:

  • storePaymentMethod: true
  • shopperReference: Your unique identifier for the shopper.

When the payment has been settled, you receive a notification webhook containing:

  • eventCode: RECURRING_CONTRACT
  • originalReference: The pspReference of the initial payment.
  • pspReference: This is the token that you need to make recurring payments for this shopper.
Make sure that your server is able to receive RECURRING_CONTRACT as part of your standard notifications. If you have not requested for this additional configuration yet, contact our Support Team.

Make a payment with a token

To make a payment with the token, include in your /payments request:

  • paymentMethod.storedPaymentMethodId: The pspReference from the RECURRING_CONTRACT notification.
    You can also get this value by using the /listRecurringDetails endpoint.
  • shopperReference: The unique shopper identifier that you specified when creating the token.
  • shopperInteractionContAuth
  • recurringProcessingModel: Use Subscription for a series of transactions following a fixed time interval or UnscheduledCardOnFile for contracts with non-fixed time interval.

Test and go live

To make MoMo Wallet payments in the test environment:

  1. Download the MoMo test app for iOS or Android at https://test-payment.momo.vn/download/. If you're testing on a desktop browser, use the test app to scan the QR.
  2. Use MoMo's test credentials to log in to the test app. MoMo provides different credentials depending on the scenario that you want to test (for example, failed scenarios).

Check the status of MoMo Wallet test payments in your Customer Area > Transactions > Payments.

Before you can accept live MoMo Wallet payments, you need to submit a request for MoMo Wallet in your live Customer Area.
