Multibanco is the most popular payment method in Portugal. The shopper gets a voucher for the payment at the checkout. They use the voucher to make the payment at an ATM with a debit card, or using online banking.

A payment voucher for Multibanco includes:

* A payment reference.
* An entity number.
* The payable amount.
* The expiry date of the voucher.
