For risk management purposes, you can add an Address Verification System (AVS) check to Mail Order\/Telephone Order (MOTO)<\/a> payments. The payment terminal then prompts you to enter the shopper's postal code (zip code) and house number. The card issuer validates the data you entered and returns a response that can help you decide whether to go ahead with the transaction or cancel the authorization.<\/p>\n

We map the AVS responses we receive from card issuers to the following AVS results that can appear in your payment response, in the avsResult<\/code> element of the AdditionalResponse<\/code>. When we do not receive a response from the issuing bank, the AVS result is \"Unknown\".<\/p>\n
