Customer Area - Point of sale

Improvements

  • In the Display label and Device slogan settings you can now use variables for the terminal's serial number, IP address, and store code. This means you can define these settings on levels above the terminal level. When the terminal receives a label or slogan with variables, it will replace the variables with the applicable values.
  • The format of Encryption key values is now validated, to prevent filling in values that are not allowed.

Fixes

  • The POS Overview didn't load when there is a large amount of data. We solved this issue by migrating the accounts were this problem occured to a new data handling system. Unfortunately, historical overview data from before October 27th 2020 is not availabe in these cases.

Improvements

  • After a terminal is successfully reassigned, there can be a short period when the Customer Area is not yet able to show the new sitation. When this happens, we now indicate the reassignment is in progress. This should make clear there is no need to re-try assigning the terminal.
  • The Release notes and libraries overview now shows a banner to indicate beta releases are available only for merchants who participate in the beta program.
  • We improved the DCC overview by fixing issues, increasing the loading speed, and making the graphs easier to interpret.

Fixes

  • Previously, when setting up a Wi-Fi profile, fields and values that are not shown in the UI and that don't apply to the chosen authentication type were added in the background. In some cases this led to terminals rejecting the Wi-Fi profile.

Improvements

  • For terminals staged after October 26th 2020, the Terminal history details of a terminal now include the staged software version and the MAC address of the terminal. These aspects impact the boarding experience and the upgrade path, so it helps to have this information available before rolling out new terminals or updating terminals that were kept in the warehouse for a long time.
  • We added the maximum file size to the description of the Receipt logo option.

Improvements

  • The terminals settings for Connectivity > Base Station only apply on the terminal level. For that reason, we removed the base station settings at higher levels.

Fixes

  • When uploading a receipt logo in BMP or PNG format with a transparent background, the upload preview was black.

Improvements

  • We replaced several generic error messages with error messages that explain what went wrong. For example, when you try to save a new address with a label that's already in use for another address.

Fixes

  • We added a note to the settings for Wi-Fi roaming, time out, and band to explain that these settings are only applied to specific terminal models (VX680, VX690, VX820, and E355).

Improvements

  • On the Insights dashboard, we added functionality to each view so that you can download a CSV file with the data that the view is based on.
  • It's now possible to download logos that have been uploaded to the terminal settings.

Removed

  • The battery live settings caused confusion because they have different effects depending on the terminal model and integration type. We therefore removed these settings and are working on a solution based on profiles.

Improvements

  • We improved the names and descriptions of several Terminal settings.

Fixes

  • We no longer show the one-time password for inventory terminals. This prevents users from trying to board these terminals and receiving a "Service not connected" error resulting from the fact that inventory terminals can't be boarded.

  • Terminals with the state INVALID are hidden from the Terminals overview but were visible in the CSV report. To avoid confusion, these terminals are now excluded from the CSV report.

New

  • You can configure several aspects of Adyen Giving yourself, like the charity name to be shown on the terminal display, the suggested donation amounts, and a time-out for the donation screen.

Improvements

  • The order details shown for a selected order in the Orders list are extended with a visualization that tracks the status of the order, for example from Placed through Confirmed and Shipped to Delivered.

  • The page Release notes and libraries has been given a new look. The functionality hasn't changed.

  • When adding a Logo to the terminal display or to receipts, you can preview and zoom the image, and the image is automatically cropped to the required size.

Improvements

  • The list of Stores has been revised:
    • It gives a better overview of the stores for a company or under a merchant account and has improved search functionality.
    • Apart from the store details, the list shows the store status, the number of terminals that are online or switched off, and the authorised amounts and trend from the last seven days.
    • Several elements in the list are clickable and lead you to further information like the store configuration, the switched off terminals, or the payments list.
    • You can filter on store status and country.

  • We improved the description of the Purchase order number field in terminal orders, to remind you that it can cause issues with your reconciliation when a terminal order and the resulting invoice don't contain a purchase order number.

  • The design of the DCC Overview has been modernized, to gain better insights into the performance of Dynamic Currency Conversion.
  • You can now view the list of stores for all countries, or filter by country.
  • Terminal settings > Integrations > Standalone: It is now possible to hide the Start button.

Improvements

  • Terminal settings > Payment features > Default currencies > Terminal default currency: We added this setting to the company account level. With this, you can set the standalone processing currency and then enable Standalone at the company account level.
  • Terminal settings > Hardware > Volume: Added descriptions to explain what the settings do.
  • For Android payment terminals, we increased the maximum logo file size from 512 KB to 1 MB.

Fixes

  • We fixed an issue where terminals assigned to a merchant account sometimes received the supported brands configured for terminals that were assigned to a shop under the merchant account.
  • After an update to the functionality for reassigning terminals in batches, the warnings about terminals still boarded or transacting no longer appeared. We fixed this, and added a list where you can easily identify those terminals and remove them from the list of terminals to be reassigned.

  • In Terminal settings > Hardware > Battery life we added descriptions to explain what the settings do.
  • In Terminal settings > Payment features > Store and forward we changed the descriptions and the user interface, to clarify the settings.

Improvements

  • Filtering of the terminals list: On the Inventory tab, added an Account filter. This shows terminals that are in the inventory of the selected merchant account.

  • Terminal settings > Payment features > Tipping:

    • We made sure you can't add more tipping options than the terminal display supports.
    • If a currency already has tipping options, it is no longer included in the list of currencies that you can add tipping options to.
    • We added descriptions to clarify the settings.

  • Terminal settings > Payment features > AID: It is now clearer which AID selection rules are enabled, and what they mean.

Fixes

  • When the last activity of a terminal is between 7 and 14 days ago, we now show the date instead of Over 14 days ago.
  • Fixed an issue with the filters on the Insights dashboard.
