# Turn on and off the e355

Turn your terminal on to begin setting it up for payments.

## Prerequisites

* Ensure the device is fully charged before turning it on. See [Charge the e355](/point-of-sale/user-manuals/terminal-deprecation/e355-user-manual/charge-the-e355) for instructions.

## Turn on the e355

1. Press and hold **![](/user/pages/reuse/image-library/buttons/01.confirme355/2_e355.png)** until the device turns on .
2. When the device has turned on successfully, it shows the home screen logo. If you provided us with a logo, the terminal will show your merchant logo. Otherwise, you will see the Adyen logo.     

## Turn off the e355

* Hold **![](/user/pages/reuse/image-library/buttons/02.cancele355/3_e355.png)**  for more than five seconds. During this time it will beep repeatedly until it begins to power down.
