{"title":"Manage your account structure","category":"default","creationDate":1697706960,"content":"<p>This page describes how to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#request-merchant-account\">Request a new merchant account<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#delete-merchant-account\">Delete a merchant account<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#create-account-group\">Create<\/a> and <a href=\"#edit-account-group\">edit<\/a> account groups.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#switching-between-accounts\">Switch between company and merchant accounts<\/a> in your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"request-merchant-account\">Request a new merchant account<\/h2>\n<p>To be able to request a new merchant account, you need to have the following <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/user-roles\">user roles<\/a> for your company account:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Merchant admin<\/li>\n<li>Merchant additional merchant accounts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To request a new merchant account:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>. Make sure that you are on your company account.<\/li>\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>Account<\/strong>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<strong>Merchant accounts<\/strong>, and select <strong>Request new merchant account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Desired account code<\/strong> box, enter the name for this merchant account, for example <em>TeaShop_NL<\/em>.\n<div class=\"notices yellow\">\n<p>Changing the name of the merchant account later is only possible if you haven't processed any transactions through this merchant account.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Channel<\/strong> drop-down, select whether you are using this merchant account for processing ecommerce or point-of-sale transactions.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Payment methods<\/strong> section, select the payment methods for the new merchant account.<br \/>\nYou can <a href=\"\/pt\/payment-methods\/add-payment-methods\">add more payment methods<\/a> at any time.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Submit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"delete-merchant-account\">Delete a merchant account<\/h2>\n<p>If you no longer use a merchant account, you can request it to be closed. To be able to close a merchant account, you need to have the <strong>Merchant admin<\/strong> <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/user-roles\">user role<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To close a merchant account:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Switch to the merchant account that you want to close.<\/li>\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>Settings<\/strong>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<strong>Close account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Requested inactivation date<\/strong> drop-down, select the month starting from when the account should be closed.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Reason Category<\/strong> drop-down, select a reason for closing the account.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Request Closure<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The account will become inactive on the first day of the month of your requested inactivation date. As of this date, you can no longer process transactions with this merchant account, and we will stop charging you for our services for this merchant account.<\/p>\n<p>After the account becomes inactive, you can still access the inactive merchant account for six months. The six months is counted from the last transaction date, not from the date when the account became inactive.<\/p>\n<p>The following examples show how the last transaction date affects how long you can still access the inactive account:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You select July as the <strong>Requested inactivation date<\/strong>. The last transaction date on the account was January 1. The account becomes inactive on July 1. You can still access the account until August 1.<\/li>\n<li>You select July as the <strong>Requested inactivation date<\/strong>. The last transaction date on the account was June 30. The account becomes inactive on July 1. You can still access the account until December 1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This allows you to view and download reports, as well as defend chargebacks and process refunds if needed. After this time period, the merchant account becomes permanently closed, and you will no longer access it.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"create-account-group\">Create an account group<\/h2>\n<p>An <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/account-structure#account-groups\">account group<\/a> is a group of merchant accounts. Creating an account group allows you to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quickly give users access to several merchant accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Search for payments across several merchant accounts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To be able to create new account groups, you need to have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage Merchant Account Groups <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/user-roles\">user role<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Access to the company account<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To create a new account group:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to\u00a0<strong>Settings<\/strong>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<strong>Account groups<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThis opens an overview of all your merchant accounts and existing account groups.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Add group<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the name for the new group.<\/li>\n<li>Select all merchant accounts that you want to add to the new group.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Create a new group<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You can now <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/users#create\">give users access to the new account group<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"edit-account-group\">Edit an account group<\/h2>\n<p>After you have created an account group, you can add more merchant accounts to the group, or remove merchant accounts from the group.<\/p>\n<p>To be able to add or remove merchant accounts, you need to have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage Merchant Account Groups <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/user-roles\">user role<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Access to the company account<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To add or remove merchant accounts from an account group:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to\u00a0<strong>Settings<\/strong>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<strong>Account groups<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThis opens an overview of all your merchant accounts and existing account groups.<\/li>\n<li>Next to <strong>Add group<\/strong>, select <strong>Edit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the merchant accounts that you'd like to add or remove.<\/li>\n<li>In the lower-right corner, select the action you want to perform:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Move to group<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Remove from group<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Create a group from selection<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"switching-between-accounts\">Switching between accounts<\/h2>\n<p>When navigating in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>, your view is either at the company level or merchant level.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Company level<\/strong>: you see information about all your merchant accounts. A page such as the\u00a0payment list (under <strong>Transactions<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Payments<\/strong>) shows you payments for all merchant accounts that you have access to.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Merchant level<\/strong>: you only see information about the currently selected merchant account. The payment list\u00a0(under <strong>Transactions<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Payments<\/strong>) only shows you payments for the currently selected merchant account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can know whether you are on the company level or merchant level from the account switcher in the upper-left corner.<\/p>\n<h3>Switch to a merchant account<\/h3>\n<p>To switch to a merchant account, select the name of your company account in the upper-left corner of your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>. Then select the merchant account you want to switch to.<\/p>\n<h3>Switch to your company account<\/h3>\n<p>To switch to your company account, select the name of your merchant account in upper-left corner of your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>.
