{"title":"Manage your balances","category":"default","creationDate":1776961629,"content":"<p>In your merchant account, you hold the following balances:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pending balance<\/li>\n<li>Refund reserve<\/li>\n<li>Next payout amount<\/li>\n<li>Deposit<\/li>\n<li>Negative refund allowance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The deposit and the negative refund allowance are fixed amounts determined by Adyen, but you can adjust all other balances in your merchant account in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#top-up-your-account\">Top up your account<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#transfer-funds-between-accounts\">Transfer funds between accounts<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/pt\/account\/manage-payments\">Process payments<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/pt\/account\/getting-paid\">Pay out funds to your bank account<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Fund allotment<\/h2>\n<p>When you increase the available balance in your merchant account, the funds first go to your pending balance. After they are settled, these funds are allotted to the other balances held in that account. This ensures that the funds are not paid out with the next payout batch.&lt;\\\/li&gt;\\n&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Funding deposit held by Adyen&lt;\\\/strong&gt;: The funds are booked to your &lt;a href=\\&quot;\\\/pt\\\/account\\\/balances-pilot\\\/deposit\\&quot;&gt;deposit&lt;\\\/a&gt;.&lt;\\\/li&gt;\\n&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Offsetting a negative amount in my payable&lt;\\\/strong&gt;: The funds are booked to your pending balance, and used to cover any negative balances caused by refunds and chargebacks.&lt;\\\/li&gt;\\n&lt;\\\/ul&gt;\\n&lt;p&gt;If you do not specify a &lt;strong&gt;Reason&lt;\\\/strong&gt; for the top-up, we allot the funds according to the following order of priority:&lt;\\\/p&gt;\\n&lt;ol&gt;\\n&lt;li&gt;If the pending balance or the next payout amount is negative, the funds are booked to the pending balance. When we receive the top-up payment, we add the funds to your reserve, your deposit, or your pending balance, based on how you chose to <a href=\"#fund-allotment\">allot the funds<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For payments made in <strong>EUR<\/strong> or <strong>USD<\/strong>, the funds are added to your account within two business days. For other currencies, this can take up to four business days.<\/p>\n<p>For some currencies, for example <strong>ZAR<\/strong>, you need to <a href=\"https:\/\/help.adyen.com\/knowledge\/payments\/refunds\/how-can-i-transfer-funds-into-my-adyen-account\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">use specific details<\/a> for your bank transfer.<\/p>\n<p>To generate a top-up payment, you need the following <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/user-roles#finance\">user role<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Merchant financial<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To top up your merchant account using your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select the correct merchant account.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Finance<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Balances overview<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Top up<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Reason<\/strong> for your top-up payment.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the amount that you want to add to the account.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Top up with your bank account<\/strong> or <strong>Other top up methods<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the new window that opens, complete the payment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Transfer funds between accounts<\/h2>\n<p>You can transfer funds between two merchant accounts under the same company account and <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/define-account-structure#legal-entities\">legal entity<\/a>. For this to work, these two merchant accounts must have at least one common processing currency. This currency is used to transfer the funds.<\/p>\n<p>By transferring balances, you can adjust the balance of your reserve, your deposit, or pending amount.
