{"title":"Manage users","category":"default","creationDate":1776961629,"content":"<p>Users let people in your organization access the <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>, where they can view and manage different parts of your Adyen account. You can control a user's permissions by assigning <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/user-roles\">roles<\/a>, and by specifying which <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/account-structure\">merchant accounts<\/a> they can access.<\/p>\n<p>When you sign up for an Adyen account, you get an <strong>admin<\/strong> login for the <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>. The admin user has the most common <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/user-roles\">roles<\/a> and access to all linked merchant accounts. As the admin user, you can then create new users for other people in your company.<\/p>\n<p>On this page, you'll learn how to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#view-own-roles\">Check which roles your own user has<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#create\">Create<\/a> or <a href=\"#duplicate\">duplicate<\/a> users.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#edit\">Change a user's permissions<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#add-trusted-ip\">Add trusted IP addresses<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#delete\">Delete<\/a> users.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#users-within-a-company\">Get an overview of all users<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"view-own-roles\">View your own roles<\/h2>\n<p>To see which <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/user-roles\">roles<\/a> are assigned to your own user:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the user menu icon in the top right corner.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Profile<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Roles<\/strong> pane, select the arrow to see a list of all roles assigned to your user. You can also search for a specific role.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"create\">Create a user<\/h2>\n<p>To be able to create users, you need to have one of the following <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/user-roles\">roles<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Merchant admin<\/li>\n<li>Merchant user management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To create a user:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>On the <strong>User details<\/strong> page, select the login method for the user and fill in the required fields. We recommend single sign-on as the login method. The login method options include:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SSO<\/strong>: The user must use <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/single-sign-on\">single sign-on<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Email and password<\/strong>: The user must sign in with their email and password.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Continue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>For <strong>Accounts<\/strong>, you can choose which <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/account-structure\">accounts<\/a> the user will be able to access. Remember that you can only give access to <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/account-structure#merchant-accounts\">merchant accounts<\/a> and <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/account-structure#account-groups\">account groups<\/a> that your own user already has. For example, if you give access to an account group that contains merchant accounts A, B, and C, but you only have access to A and B, the new user will also only have access to A and B.<\/li>\n<li>For <strong>Roles<\/strong>, you can only assign roles that your own user already has. For a list of all possible roles, see <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/user-roles\">user roles<\/a>. If you need to assign a role that neither you nor your admin user has, contact our <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/ca\/ca\/contactUs\/support.shtml?form=other\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Support Team<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Summary<\/strong> page you can review and edit the details, accounts, and roles you assigned to the new user.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Create new user<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The new user receives an email with a link to verify their email address and set up a password, and to set up <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/multifactor-authentication\">Multifactor Authentication (MFA)<\/a> for their <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a> account.<\/p>\n<div class=\"notices yellow\">\n<p>This new user verification link is only valid for two weeks. If the link expires, you need to <a href=\"#email-verification\">resend an email verification<\/a> to the user.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"email-verification\">Resend email verification<\/h3>\n<p>If the user does not verify their email address and create a password within the link expiry time, you need to resend them an email verification:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Account<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Users<\/strong>, and select the user from the <strong>User List<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>User details<\/strong> pane, select <strong>Resend email verification<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The user receives an email with a link to verify their email address and to create a password, and to set up <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/multifactor-authentication\">Multifactor Authentication (MFA)<\/a> for their <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a> account.<\/p>\n<div class=\"notices yellow\">\n<p>This email verification link is only valid for 24 hours.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"password-reset-email\">Send a password reset email<\/h3>\n<p>If the user has forgotten their password, you need to send them a password reset email:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Account<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Users<\/strong>, and select the user from the <strong>User List<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>User details<\/strong> pane, select <strong>Send password reset<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The user receives an email with a link to create a password for their <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a> account.<\/p>\n<div class=\"notices yellow\">\n<p>This password reset link is only valid for 24 hours.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"duplicate\">Duplicate an existing user<\/h2>\n<p>Duplicating an existing user allows you to quickly create a new user with the same permissions as an existing user. This is useful, for example, if several people in your organization need to perform the same payments-related tasks.<\/p>\n<p>Because you can only assign permissions that your own user already has, it is possible that the new user has fewer permissions than the user you want to duplicate. For example, if you duplicate a user who has the <strong>Risk admin<\/strong> role, but you do not have this role yourself, the duplicate user won't have this role either.<\/p>\n<p>To be able to duplicate users, you need to have one of the following <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/user-roles\">roles<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Merchant admin<\/li>\n<li>Merchant user management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To duplicate an existing user:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>, and go to <strong>Account<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Users<\/strong>. This opens the <strong>Users<\/strong> list with all users linked to your company account.<\/li>\n<li>Select the copy button <i class=\"adl-icon-copy\"><\/i> in the <strong>Actions<\/strong> column next to the user that you want to duplicate.<\/li>\n<li>Enter a username and email address for the new user. The <strong>Accounts<\/strong> and <strong>Roles<\/strong> panes show the accounts and roles the duplicate user has access to.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Create user<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The new user receives an email with a link to verify their email address and create a password, and to set up <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/multifactor-authentication\">Multifactor Authentication (MFA)<\/a> for their <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a> account.<\/p>\n<div class=\"notices yellow\">\n<p>This new user link is only valid for two weeks. This opens the user details page.<\/li>\n<li>Select the edit icon <i class=\"adl-icon-edit\"><\/i> and make your changes.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"add-trusted-ip\">Add trusted IP addresses<\/h2>\n<p>As a security measure, you can define a range of trusted IP addresses from which a user can log in. The maximum number of trusted IP addresses you can add is 45.<\/p>\n<p>When you add a range of trusted IP addresses for a user, the user is only allowed to log in from that range. Login attempts from outside that range will be blocked.<\/p>\n<p>To add trusted IP addresses:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>, and go to <strong>Account<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Users<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the user from the list. This opens the user details page.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Trusted IP addresses<\/strong> section, select <strong>Add IP address<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the IP address and select a range from the drop-down menu.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Add<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"delete\">Delete an existing user<\/h2>\n<p>If you want to remove the access permissions of a user, for example, because they have left your company, you need to deactivate the user.<\/p>\n<p>To be able to deactivate users, you need to have one of the following <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/user-roles\">roles<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Merchant admin<\/li>\n<li>Merchant user management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To deactivate an existing user:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>, and go to <strong>Account<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Users<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the user from the <strong>User List<\/strong>. This opens the user details page. You cannot deactivate the user you are logged in with.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Deactivate user<\/strong> and then select <strong>Deactivate<\/strong> in the pop-up window to confirm.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This user can now no longer access the <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>. If you need to restore the user's access, select <strong>Reactivate user<\/strong> on the user details page.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"users-within-a-company\">Get an overview of all users<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>Users within a company<\/strong> report includes the roles assigned to a user, and the last time the user logged in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To be able to generate the <strong>Users within a company<\/strong> report, you need to have one of the following roles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Merchant admin<\/li>\n<li>Merchant report<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To generate this report:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Reports<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Search for the <strong>Users within a company<\/strong> report.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Generate<\/strong>.
