It is subject to change in light of updates to the regulations.<br \/>\nThe regulations described on this page apply if you process payments with local acquiring in India. These payments use the <a href=\"\/pt\/online-payments\/tokenization\/make-token-payments\">CardOnFile<\/a> recurring processing model.<\/p>\n<p>You must comply with the regulations <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbi.org.in\/Scripts\/NotificationUser.aspx?Id=12159&amp;Mode=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">allowing only authorised card networks to tokenize cards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"recurring\">Recurring payments<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbi.org.in\/Scripts\/NotificationUser.aspx?Id=12341&amp;Mode=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Regulations on recurring card payments<\/a> in India require you to notify the shopper before you charge their card with a recurring payment.<\/p>\n<p>You can accept the following kinds of recurring card payments, and recurring UPI payments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Subscriptions<\/strong>: A recurring payment made at regular intervals for a product or a service. These payments use the <strong>Subscription<\/strong> <a href=\"\/pt\/online-payments\/tokenization\/make-token-payments#make-a-subscription-or-unscheduled-card-on-file-payment\">recurring processing model<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Automatic top-ups<\/strong>: Contracts that occur on a non-fixed schedule using stored payment details. This includes automatic top-ups when the shopper's balance drops below a certain amount.
