{"title":"Payouts","category":"default","creationDate":1776961628,"content":"<p>The funds from the payments that you process for your users are held in their balance accounts until you pay them out on their verified bank account (transfer instrument). A reliable payout process ensures that you can support your users' cash flows.<\/p>\n<h2>How it works<\/h2>\n<p>When a shopper completes a purchase with one of your platform's users, the shopper's funds are first settled to your user's balance account. This means that Adyen received the funds and credited these to your user\u2019s account. Your settlement schedule is the combination of the day on which the transaction takes place and the settlement delay.<\/p>\n<p>From the balance account, the funds can be <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/payout-to-users\/\">paid out<\/a> to an external bank account that is connected to the balance account by your user. This external account must be verified during <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/quickstart-guide\/onboarding-and-kyc\">onboarding<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After you configure your <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/payout-to-users\/scheduled-payouts\/?tab=1#create-sweep\">transfer schedule<\/a>, and optionally, set a sales day <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/settle-funds\/configure-closing-time\">closing time<\/a>, Adyen initiates transfer instructions according to your configurations. Alternatively, you can <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/payout-to-users\/on-demand-payouts\">initiate on-demand payouts<\/a> to payout when needed. After a scheduled or on-demand payout is triggered, Adyen sends <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/payout-to-users\/payout-webhooks\">Payout webhooks<\/a> to inform you of payout-related events. We also share an <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/payout-to-users\/payout-webhooks#payout-tracking\">estimated arrival time<\/a> that indicates the arrival time of the funds to your user's external bank account.<\/p>\n<h2>Payout time and amount<\/h2>\n<p>Providing a reliable payout experience is critical to support your platform's users. You must set clear expectations about payout times.<\/p>\n<p>For <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/payout-to-users\/scheduled-payouts\/\">scheduled payouts<\/a>, the payout times are automated by configuring <em>sweeps<\/em> that push out or pull in funds from a balance account based on a pre-defined schedule, amount, and source or destination. <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/payout-to-users\/on-demand-payouts\">On-demand payouts<\/a> let you initiate payouts off-schedule.<\/p>\n<p>For scheduled payouts, the payout amount depends on <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/payout-to-users\/scheduled-payouts\/#how-adyen-calculates-the-available-payout-amount\">Adyen's calculation of the available payout amount<\/a>. For on-demand payouts, you specify the amount when you <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/payout-to-users\/on-demand-payouts?tab=CA-1_1#one-off-payouts\">make a transfer request<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The payout times and amount can be influenced by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/settle-funds\">sales day<\/a> configuration. Sales day is a 24-hour period in which Adyen processes your payments. By default, Adyen defines a sales day from midnight (00:00) to midnight of the next day (23:59) in the balance account's local timezone. You can <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/settle-funds\/configure-closing-time\">configure your sales day<\/a> until 7:00 AM if your user's business closes after midnight.<\/li>\n<li>Your <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/settle-funds\/configure-settlement-delay\">settlement delay<\/a> configuration.\n<ul>\n<li>By default, funds are settled with <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/sales-day-payout\/\">Sales day payout<\/a> with a payout delay of two days. It is possible <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/sales-day-payout\/#decreasing-your-payout-delay\">decrease your payout delay<\/a> at a premium depending on your situation and region.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/transfer-transactions\/#booking-and-value-date\">value date<\/a> indicates when the balance becomes available.\n<div class=\"notices green\">\n<p>For payment methods that <strong>do not<\/strong> support <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adyen.com\/legal\/sales-day-payout-supported-payment-methods\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Sales day payout<\/a>, funds are settled after Adyen receives them from the payment partner. Adyen passes the description that you provide to the recipient bank.<\/p>\n<p>To allow your users to easily identify your payouts, we recommend that your transfer statement description includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The name of your platform<\/li>\n<li>Your user's business<\/li>\n<li>The payout date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With scheduled payouts, you can set placeholders to generate <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/payout-to-users\/scheduled-payouts\/?tab=API-1_2#optional-dynamic-transfer-statement-descriptions\">dynamic transfer descriptions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Missed payouts<\/h2>\n<p>Rarely, a missed payout can occur. It is important to identify the cause for the missed payout and to resolve it for your users.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If payouts are missed for a single user, this may be caused by missing or unverified details in the <a href=\"\/pt\/platforms\/quickstart-guide\/onboarding-and-kyc\">Know Your Customer (KYC) process<\/a>.
