{"title":"Set up gift card payments","category":"default","creationDate":1674038040,"content":"<p>You can perform the following operations with gift cards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Activation<\/strong>: when issuing a new gift card to a shopper, make an activation request so that the shopper can use the card for transactions. While activating the gift card, you can also load an initial balance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check balance<\/strong>: check the balance of a gift card.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cash out<\/strong>: cash out the gift card balance by transferring the funds to a credit card.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gift card credit note<\/strong>: return funds to a shopper's gift card, with a referenced or unreferenced refund.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Redemption<\/strong>: redeem the gift card balance to use the available funds for a payment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reloading<\/strong>: add funds to an activated gift card by making a load request.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To set up gift cards:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#gift-card-operations\">Configure gift card operations in CPOS<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#register-gift-card-operation-buttons\">Register gift card operation buttons<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#create-gift-card-payment-method\">Create a new payment method for each gift card input type you want to use<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"gift-card-operations\">Step 1: Configure gift card operations<\/h2>\n<p>To accept payments with gift cards, you first need to configure register operations got each operation you want to enable. Repeat this step for each register operation.<\/li>\n<li>Save your changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"create-gift-card-payment-method\">Step 3: Set up a payment method for gift cards<\/h2>\n<p>To redeem a gift card and accept it as a payment method you need to create a new payment method for gift cards, and add additional payment method configuration.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Add gift cards as a payment method following the <a href=\"\/pt\/plugins\/cegid-retail-y2\/set-up-the-plugin#create-new-pm\">general instructions to create a new payment method<\/a>, but make sure of the following:\n<ul>\n<li>On the <strong>Characteristics<\/strong> tab of the new gift card payment method, enter a <strong>Code<\/strong> and <strong>Short name<\/strong> that indicates gift cards. For example, enter a <strong>Code<\/strong> of <strong>GCD<\/strong> and a <strong>Short name<\/strong> of <strong>Adyen Gift Card<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>On the <strong>Front-Office<\/strong> tab, set the <strong>Type<\/strong> to <strong>Gift card<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n<li>Add the new payment method you created for gift cards to the mapping table you created <a href=\"\/pt\/plugins\/cegid-retail-y2\/set-up-the-plugin#create-map\">when you set up the plugin<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In the Cegid Retail Y2 back office, go to <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Registers<\/strong> and select your register.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Settings for Peripheral<\/strong> and select <strong>EPT<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Settings for Peripheral<\/strong> and go to the <strong>Payment Configuration<\/strong> field. This is the same field you configured <a href=\"\/pt\/plugins\/cegid-retail-y2\/set-up-the-plugin#configure-cegid\">when you set up the plugin<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Add the following line to the field: <strong>GCD:GC,YOUR_ENTRY_MODE,StoredValueProvider{YOUR_GIFT_CARD_PROVIDER}<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>GCD<\/strong>: The <strong>Code<\/strong> you defined for the payment method.<\/li>\n<li><strong>GC<\/strong>: Indicates that this is a gift card operation. Must be in <strong>bold<\/strong> font.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>YOUR_ENTRY_MODE<\/strong>: specify the entry mode you want to use for gift cards.
