Some steps include a link to more detailed instructions.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p><a href=\"#inspection\">Inspect the terminal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Turn on the terminal:  <a href=\"#cable-management\">connect the terminal<\/a>  to a power supply, then press and hold the power button until the display turns on.<br \/>\nLet the battery charge for at least four hours while you continue with the next steps.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>On the <strong>Welcome<\/strong> screen, select your language.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><a href=\"#connect-to-network\">Connect the terminal to your network<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>On the <strong>Confirm store<\/strong> screen, assign the terminal to your store by selecting the check mark button. If the store shown is not your store, use the edit button to change it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sc-notice info\"><div>\n<p>If the <strong>store<\/strong> screen doesn't show, wait until the next synchronization with the Adyen platform (on average three hours) and try again.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>When you have completed these steps, you are ready to process payments!<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"inspection\">Inspect the terminal<\/h2>\n<p>Como os terminais processam dados confidenciais do cart\u00e3o, \u00e9 importante garantir que o terminal que voc\u00ea recebeu seja o terminal Adyen correto e que n\u00e3o tenha sido adulterado. Verifique se faltam veda\u00e7\u00f5es ou parafusos, fios ou etiquetas adicionais, orif\u00edcios no dispositivo e qualquer coisa inserida ou conectada a qualquer parte do terminal, como o leitor de cart\u00f5es ou as portas.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"connect-to-network\">Connect to your network<\/h2>\n<p>Connect your terminal to the internet so that it can communicate with the plataforma de pagamentos da Adyen and your own back-end systems.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"connect-wi-fi\">Connect to Wi-Fi<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>After selecting your language on the <strong>Welcome<\/strong> screen, select the arrow button: <br><img style=\"width: 40px;\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/user\/pages\/reuse\/terminal-manuals\/android-network\/bttn-round-icon.svg?decoding=auto&amp;fetchpriority=auto\" \/><\/li>\n<li>On the <strong>Setup Wi-Fi<\/strong> screen, select the <strong>+<\/strong> sign.<\/li>\n<li>Turn on the <strong>WLAN<\/strong> toggle switch.<\/li>\n<li>Select a Wi-Fi network from the list, or select the <strong>+<\/strong> sign and add the name (SSID) of the Wi-Fi network.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the Wi-Fi password.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>OK<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe terminal sets the network as default automatically, and connects to it.<br \/>\nYou'll now see a Wi-Fi icon at the top of the display.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Updating the connection settings<\/h4>\n<p>If you need to change Wi-Fi usage later:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Network<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your passcode.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Wi-Fi<\/strong>. You can now:\n<ul>\n<li>Turn Wi-Fi on or off using the <strong>WLAN<\/strong> toggle switch.<\/li>\n<li>Add another network as described above.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Cellular 3G\/4G failover<\/h3>\n<p>Your S1E or S1E Barcode terminal can automatically switch to processing payments using a cellular connection when the internet connection fails. Adyen terminals come with a pre-installed and activated SIM (eSIM) card, so you can use the cellular network immediately to board the terminal.<br \/>\nHowever, terminals boarded before 2022 might not have the SIM card activated if you did not set up the card subscription with us at the time.<br \/>\nWhen in doubt, contact our <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/ca\/ca\/contactUs\/support.shtml?form=other\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Support Team<\/a>.<\/p>\n  <h3>Replace physical SIM card<\/h3>\n<p>To replace an old or defective physical SIM card with a new one:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#turn-off-the-terminal\">Turn off the payment terminal<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>\nFrom the side of the terminal, use the slot to lift the cover with a plastic card.<\/li>\n<li>\nTo access the SIM card slot, use a plastic card to remove the battery. <\/li>\n<li>\n To release the SIM card from its slot, push it inwards. The mechanism releases the card. <div class=\"notices yellow\">\n<p>To prevent damage to the slot, do not use metal tools to manipulate the SIM cards.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Install the new SIM card into the same slot.<\/li>\n<li>Reinstall the battery and the cover. Make sure the contacts align and that it clicks into place.<\/li>\n<li>Turn on the terminal and check if the cellular network icon shows at the top of display.\n<div class=\"notices green\">\n<p>You can also check the connection on your terminal, under <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Network<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Cellular<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"power\">Turn on\/off<\/h2>\n<p>If you turn on the payment terminal for the first time or after it was off for a long time, it may make a maintenance call to synchronize the configuration and update the software. This can take 10 to 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>When connected to a power supply, the battery charges. An icon at the top of the display indicates the battery charge level.<\/p>\n<h4>Turn on the terminal:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Press and hold the power button until the display turns on.\nIf necessary, connect the terminal to a power supply to charge the battery.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Turn off the terminal:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Press and hold the power button until a dialog box appears, then confirm you want to turn off the terminal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Maintain battery performance<\/h3>\n<p>Storing payment terminals for longer periods of time can reduce the capacity of the battery or damage it permanently.<\/p>\n<p>To prevent battery degradation:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Check the storage conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Store the terminals in a cool, dry place.<\/li>\n<li>Keep the terminals away from direct sunlight or heat sources.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid overcharging - do not store terminals with battery levels over 70 percent.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid discharging - do not store terminals with battery levels below 40 percent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Inspect the batteries regularly:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Every six months, check for battery leakage or swelling.<\/li>\n<li>Recharge batteries to the optimal level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In case of battery failure, you can <a href=\"\/pt\/point-of-sale\/managing-terminals\/order-terminals#return-or-replace-terminals\">return or replace<\/a> the terminal. For certain models, you can order spare batteries.<\/p>\n<div class=\"notices yellow\">\n<p>When returning a payment terminal, make sure to dispose of the faulty battery according to your local regulations. Do not include the faulty battery in the return package as it can lead to leakage and thermal discharge.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>For more information, refer to <a href=\"\/pt\/point-of-sale\/managing-terminals\/battery-management\">Manage battery power<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"cable-management\">Use the USB-C charging cable<\/h2>\n The S1E or S1E Barcode payment terminal is supplied with a USB-C charging cable and a region-specific power plug. This cable is compliant with the <a href=\"https:\/\/usb.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">USB industry<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ul.com\/industries\/products-and-components\/wire-and-cable\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">UL<\/a> standards.<\/p>\n<div class=\"notices yellow\">\n<p>Always use the charging cable and the region-specific power plug provided by Adyen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>To prevent damage to the USB-C charging cable and the USB-C socket on the  payment terminal,  follow these guidelines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Insert and remove the USB-C charging cable by holding the end that connects to the  terminal  or the power plug.<\/li>\n<li>Do not insert or remove the USB-C charging cable in an upward, downward, left, or right direction.<\/li>\n<li>Do not bend or fold the USB-C charging cable.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use excessive force to insert or remove the USB-C charging cable.<\/li>\n<li>Always inspect the USB-C charging cable and the USB-C socket on the  terminal  for foreign objects. <\/li>\n<li>If the terminal operates in areas of high humidity, dust, or food residue, consider getting a charging station.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"payment-terminal-menus\">Payment terminal menus<\/h2>\n<p>Your payment terminals have a menu with options related to payments, and a menu with options related to configuration. Update the software version. Scan to connect to the terminal.<\/li><li markdown=\"1\"><strong>Network<\/strong>: enable and configure network connections. Turn <a href=\"\/pt\/point-of-sale\/menu-access#use-airplane-mode\">airplane mode<\/a> on\/off.<\/li><li markdown=\"1\"><strong>Configuration<\/strong>: view, update, or remove the configuration version.<\/li><li markdown=\"1\"><strong>Display<\/strong>: adjust the screen brightness.<\/li><li markdown=\"1\"><strong>Diagnostics<\/strong>: run network connection tests or send us a <a href=\"\/pt\/point-of-sale\/pos-troubleshooting\/hardware-tests#send-a-diagnostic-report\">diagnostic report<\/a>.<\/li><li markdown=\"1\"><strong>Apps<\/strong>: overview of the apps and certificates installed on the terminal. This gives an overview of the total amounts for sales, refunds, gratuities (tips), and cancellations that the terminal processed since the last reset of the report. By resetting the report, you can use this functionality to get day totals or shift totals.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>To obtain the Totals report:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select <strong>Transactions<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Totals<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the Transactions menu passcode.<\/li>\n<li>You can now:\n<ul>\n<li>View a Totals report for the period shown at the top of the report.<\/li>\n<li>Start a new reporting period by selecting the reset button: <br><img style=\"width: 50px;\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/user\/pages\/reuse\/terminal-manuals\/android-totals\/bttn-refresh.svg?decoding=auto&amp;fetchpriority=auto\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Access the report from the previous reporting period.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Resetting automatically<\/h3>\n<p>To automatically reset the Totals every day at a specific hour, contact our <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/ca\/ca\/contactUs\/support.shtml?form=other\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Support Team<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Airplane mode<\/h2>\n<p>For the airline industry the payment terminal has an airplane mode. When preparing for take-off, turning on airplane mode is the quickest way to turn off all cellular and other network connections on the terminal.<\/p>\n<p>When you turn airplane mode off again, the previous connections are restored.<\/p>\n<h3>Enable airplane mode<\/h3>\n<p>To be able to use airplane mode, contact our <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/ca\/ca\/contactUs\/support.shtml?form=other\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Support Team<\/a> and ask them to enable this feature. The <strong>Network<\/strong> menu on the terminal will then include an <strong>Airplane mode<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n<h3>Use airplane mode<\/h3>\n<p>To turn on airplane mode:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>On the terminal, select <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Network<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the passcode.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Network<\/strong> menu, turn on the <strong>Airplane mode<\/strong> toggle.<br \/>\nAll connections (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Cellular) are now <em>Off<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>To turn off airplane mode:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>On the terminal, select <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Network<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the passcode.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Network<\/strong> menu, turn off the <strong>Airplane mode<\/strong> toggle.<br \/>\nAll previous connections (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Cellular) are now restored.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"troubleshooting\">Solu\u00e7\u00e3o de problemas<\/h2>\n<h3>Autoatendimento<\/h3>\n<p>Se houver algum problema com o seu terminal, tente primeiro diagnosticar e resolver o problema usando a nossa se\u00e7\u00e3o <a href=\"\/pt\/reuse\/text-snippet-library\/adminpin\">Solu\u00e7\u00e3o de problemas para POS<\/a>. Adyen terminals come with a pre-installed and activated SIM (eSIM) card, so you can use the cellular network immediately to board the terminal.\nHowever, terminals boarded before 2022 might not have the SIM card activated if you did not set up the card subscription with us at the time.\nWhen in doubt, contact our Support Team.\n  Replace physical SIM card\nTo replace an old or defective physical SIM card with a new one:\n\nTurn off the payment terminal.\n\nFrom the side of the terminal, use the slot to lift the cover with a plastic card.\n\nTo access the SIM card slot, use a plastic card to remove the battery. \n\n To release the SIM card from its slot, push it inwards. The mechanism releases the card. \nTo prevent damage to the slot, do not use metal tools to manipulate the SIM cards.\n\n\nInstall the new SIM card into the same slot.\nReinstall the battery and the cover. Make sure the contacts align and that it clicks into place.\nTurn on the terminal and check if the cellular network icon shows at the top of display.\n\nYou can also check the connection on your terminal, under Settings &gt; Network &gt; Cellular. \n\n\nTurn on\/off\nIf you turn on the payment terminal for the first time or after it was off for a long time, it may make a maintenance call to synchronize the configuration and update the software. This can take 10 to 20 minutes.\nWhen connected to a power supply, the battery charges. For certain models, you can order spare batteries.\n\nWhen returning a payment terminal, make sure to dispose of the faulty battery according to your local regulations. Do not include the faulty battery in the return package as it can lead to leakage and thermal discharge.\n\nFor more information, refer to Manage battery power.\nUse the USB-C charging cable\n The S1E or S1E Barcode payment terminal is supplied with a USB-C charging cable and a region-specific power plug. This cable is compliant with the USB industry and UL standards.\n\nAlways use the charging cable and the region-specific power plug provided by Adyen.\n\nTo prevent damage to the USB-C charging cable and the USB-C socket on the  payment terminal,  follow these guidelines:\n\nInsert and remove the USB-C charging cable by holding the end that connects to the  terminal  or the power plug.\nDo not insert or remove the USB-C charging cable in an upward, downward, left, or right direction.\nDo not bend or fold the USB-C charging cable.\nDo not use excessive force to insert or remove the USB-C charging cable.\nAlways inspect the USB-C charging cable and the USB-C socket on the  terminal  for foreign objects. \nIf the terminal operates in areas of high humidity, dust, or food residue, consider getting a charging station.\n\nPayment terminal menus\nYour payment terminals have a menu with options related to payments, and a menu with options related to configuration.
