Contrary to most other terminals, you always need to assign an unattended terminal to a store before boarding the terminal.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Assign the terminal to your store <a href=\"\/pt\/point-of-sale\/managing-terminals\/assign-terminals#step-1-pre-assign-the-terminal-to-a-store\">using your Customer Area<\/a> or <a href=\"\/pt\/point-of-sale\/automating-terminal-management\/assign-terminals-api\">using API calls<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sc-notice info\"><div>\n<p>In the procedure, use the serial number of the UX300 card reader. You can view the serial number in your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-live.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>, under <strong>In-person payments<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Orders and returns<\/strong>, in the order for your terminal.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"inspection\">Inspect the terminal<\/h2>\n<p>Como os terminais processam dados confidenciais do cart\u00e3o, \u00e9 importante garantir que o terminal que voc\u00ea recebeu seja o terminal Adyen correto e que n\u00e3o tenha sido adulterado. You may also need to install a drain tube and connect grounding cables or a ground harness. To learn how to mount the UX devices, see:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The installation instructions from the manufacturer of your self-service machine.<\/li>\n<li>The installation instructions from Verifone, the manufacturer of the UX devices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"connect-cables\">Connect the cables<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Connect an Ethernet cable between the ETH (LAN) port of the UX300 card reader and your network.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sc-notice note\"><div>\n<p>Only connect a regular Ethernet cable to the ETH (LAN) port. Using any other type of cable or another port, such as the RS232 port, might severely damage the device.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Connect the card reader to the UX400 NFC-reader:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Connect an antenna cable between the UX400 RF port on the card reader and the NFC-reader.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Connect an RJ-45 communication cable between the COMM port on the card reader and the NFC-reader.<\/p>\n<!-- list separator -->\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Connect the card reader to the UX100 PIN pad with a USB Type A-B cable, using the powered USB-1 port on the card reader.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Connect the card reader to a power supply unit in the self-service machine or to an external power source, using the DC-in port on the card reader.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The UX terminal now starts up.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"reset-ars\">Reset the anti-removal switches<\/h2>\n<p>The UX terminal has a number of anti-removal switches (ARS) that put the terminal out of service when someone tries to physically tamper with the device. Mounting the terminal also triggers these switches.<\/p>\n<p>To continue setting up the terminal, you need to reset the ARS switches:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>When the display of the UX100 PIN pad shows <strong>Out of Service<\/strong>, press <strong>OK<\/strong> to confirm you want to <strong>Reset<\/strong> the ARS.<\/li>\n<li>When the display asks for the <strong>Switch 1<\/strong> password, enter the ARS password you received from Adyen and press <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>When the display asks for the <strong>Switch 2<\/strong> password, enter the same ARS password and press <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The display should now show the Adyen logo, and then \"Terminal is not boarded\".<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"reset-ars-after-boarding\">Resetting anti-removal switches after boarding<\/h3>\n<p>Sometimes the ARS switches are triggered later on in the process of getting the terminal up and running, after the terminal is boarded. When this happens, the display doesn't indicate the terminal is out of service. You can start a transaction, but the transaction cannot be completed because PIN entry is prevented.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure the terminal will function properly, you need to reset the ARS switches again:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>On the back of the UX300 card reader, press the service switch.<\/li>\n<li>On the UX100 PIN pad, press <strong>OK<\/strong> to confirm you want to <strong>Reset<\/strong> the ARS.<\/li>\n<li>When the display asks for the <strong>Switch 1<\/strong> password, enter the ARS password you received from Adyen and press <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>When the display asks for the <strong>Switch 2<\/strong> password, enter the same ARS password and press <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The display should now show your logo.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"connect-to-network\">(Optional) Use a static IP address<\/h2>\n<p>By default, DHCP is enabled on the UX300 unattended payment terminal. With this setting, your DHCP server assigns an IP address to the terminal.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To let your DHCP server assign an IP address, skip this step and go to the next step: <a href=\"#board-ux-terminal\">Board the terminal<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>If you cannot use a DHCP server, <a href=\"#define-static-ip\">define a static IP address<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"define-static-ip\">Define a static IP address<\/h3>\n<p>If you are not able to use a DHCP server, you need to disable DHCP and define a static IP address for the terminal.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>On the UX100 PIN pad, press <strong>9<\/strong> and then press <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Enter the PIN code for the Admin menu and press <strong>OK<\/strong>. If you do not know this code, see our <a href=\"\/pt\/point-of-sale\/pos-troubleshooting\/terminal-turns-on\/admin-pin\/\">POS Troubleshooting section<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select <strong>1 Network<\/strong> and press <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select <strong>2 Ethernet<\/strong> and press <strong>OK<\/strong>. The <strong>IP settings<\/strong> page opens with the pointer in the <strong>IP address<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Disable DHCP: press the <strong>Up<\/strong> arrow key to go to the <strong>Use DHCP<\/strong> checkbox at the top of the page, and then press <strong>OK<\/strong> to clear the checkbox.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Enter your network information in the remaining fields.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To go from field to field, use the <strong>Up<\/strong> and <strong>Down<\/strong> arrow keys.<\/li>\n<li>To remove characters, press <strong>CORR<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>To type a dot (.) press <strong>0<\/strong> two times.<\/p>\n<!-- list separator -->\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>To apply the changes and close the menu, press <strong>STOP<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"board-ux-terminal\">Board the terminal<\/h2>\n<p>Remember that the terminal can only board if it is <a href=\"#assign\">assigned to your store<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>When the display shows <strong>Board the terminal<\/strong>, on the UX100 PIN pad press <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>When the display shows the store that the terminal is assigned to, press <strong>OK<\/strong> to confirm.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"update-firmware\">Update the terminal software<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>On the UX100 PIN pad, press <strong>9<\/strong> and then press <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the PIN code for the Admin menu and press <strong>OK<\/strong>. After that, you are ready to accept payments.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"admin-menu\">Settings and transactions<\/h2>\n<p>With the Admin menu on the UX300 unattended payment terminal you can view and change various settings, update the software, and view the transactions made with the terminal.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>On the UX100 PIN pad, press\u00a0<strong>9<\/strong>\u00a0and then press\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Enter the PIN code for the Admin menu and press <strong>OK<\/strong>. Using any other type of cable or another port, such as the RS232 port, might severely damage the device.\n\n\n\nConnect the card reader to the UX400 NFC-reader:\n\nConnect an antenna cable between the UX400 RF port on the card reader and the NFC-reader.\n\nConnect an RJ-45 communication cable between the COMM port on the card reader and the NFC-reader.\n\n\n\n\n\nConnect the card reader to the UX100 PIN pad with a USB Type A-B cable, using the powered USB-1 port on the card reader.\n\n\nConnect the card reader to a power supply unit in the self-service machine or to an external power source, using the DC-in port on the card reader.\n\n\nThe UX terminal now starts up.\nReset the anti-removal switches\nThe UX terminal has a number of anti-removal switches (ARS) that put the terminal out of service when someone tries to physically tamper with the device. Mounting the terminal also triggers these switches.\nTo continue setting up the terminal, you need to reset the ARS switches:\n\nWhen the display of the UX100 PIN pad shows Out of Service, press OK to confirm you want to Reset the ARS.\nWhen the display asks for the Switch 1 password, enter the ARS password you received from Adyen and press OK.\nWhen the display asks for the Switch 2 password, enter the same ARS password and press OK.\n\nThe display should now show the Adyen logo, and then \"Terminal is not boarded\".\nResetting anti-removal switches after boarding\nSometimes the ARS switches are triggered later on in the process of getting the terminal up and running, after the terminal is boarded. When this happens, the display doesn't indicate the terminal is out of service. You can start a transaction, but the transaction cannot be completed because PIN entry is prevented.\nTo ensure the terminal will function properly, you need to reset the ARS switches again:\n\nOn the back of the UX300 card reader, press the service switch.\nOn the UX100 PIN pad, press OK to confirm you want to Reset the ARS.\nWhen the display asks for the Switch 1 password, enter the ARS password you received from Adyen and press OK.\nWhen the display asks for the Switch 2 password, enter the same ARS password and press OK.\n\nThe display should now show your logo.\n(Optional) Use a static IP address\nBy default, DHCP is enabled on the UX300 unattended payment terminal. With this setting, your DHCP server assigns an IP address to the terminal.\n\nTo let your DHCP server assign an IP address, skip this step and go to the next step: Board the terminal.\nIf you cannot use a DHCP server, define a static IP address.\n\nDefine a static IP address\nIf you are not able to use a DHCP server, you need to disable DHCP and define a static IP address for the terminal.\n\n\nOn the UX100 PIN pad, press 9 and then press OK.\n\n\nEnter the PIN code for the Admin menu and press OK. If you do not know this code, see our POS Troubleshooting section.\n\n\nSelect 1 Network and press OK.\n\n\nSelect 2 Ethernet and press OK. The IP settings page opens with the pointer in the IP address field.\n\n\nDisable DHCP: press the Up arrow key to go to the Use DHCP checkbox at the top of the page, and then press OK to clear the checkbox.\n\n\nEnter your network information in the remaining fields.\n\nTo go from field to field, use the Up and Down arrow keys.\nTo remove characters, press CORR.\n\nTo type a dot (.) press 0 two times.\n\n\n\n\n\nTo apply the changes and close the menu, press STOP.\n\n\nBoard the terminal\nRemember that the terminal can only board if it is assigned to your store.\n\nWhen the display shows Board the terminal, on the UX100 PIN pad press OK.\nWhen the display shows the store that the terminal is assigned to, press OK to confirm.\n\nUpdate the terminal software\n\nOn the UX100 PIN pad, press 9 and then press OK.\nEnter the PIN code for the Admin menu and press OK. If you do not know this code, see our POS Troubleshooting section.\nSelect 2 Software and press OK.\nPress OK to confirm you want Update the software.\n\nWhen the terminal finishes downloading and installing the software, it reboots. After that, you are ready to accept payments.\nSettings and transactions\nWith the Admin menu on the UX300 unattended payment terminal you can view and change various settings, update the software, and view the transactions made with the terminal.\n\n\nOn the UX100 PIN pad, press\u00a09\u00a0and then press\u00a0OK.\n\n\nEnter the PIN code for the Admin menu and press OK.
