{"title":"Closing your fiscal period","category":"default","creationDate":1671626400,"content":"<div class=\"additional-info-block output-inline\">\n<h5 class=\"article__heading additional-info-block__title\">Balances overview dashboard<\/h5><div class=\"additional-info-block__body\"><p>If you have a manual bookkeeping process or do not want to look at a spreadsheet, you can <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/balances#check-balances\">check your balances in a dashboard<\/a> instead.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n<p>Depending on when you close your fiscal period, you need the <a href=\"\/pt\/reporting\/closing-your-fiscal-period\/monthly-and-daily-finance-report\">Monthly finance report or Daily finance report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Your Adyen account holds <a href=\"\/pt\/account\/balances\">several balances<\/a> recorded in different registers in the report. Figure out which amounts are relevant to your fiscal period closing process and find them in the report.<\/p>\n<h2>Find the details of your balances<\/h2>\n<p>If the last day of your fiscal period is the last day of the month, you can use the Monthly finance report to close your fiscal period.<\/p>\n<p>If not, you can use the Daily finance report to close your fiscal period.<\/p>\n<p>Look in the <strong>Payment balances<\/strong> sheet.<\/p>\n<p>Under the heading line that includes the <strong>Account<\/strong>, <strong>TestMerchant<\/strong>, included date range, and currency, there are tables for different account registers.<\/p>\n<h3>Account register balances<\/h3>\n<p>Column B shows the name of the account register. Each account register has its own <strong>Opening Balance<\/strong> and <strong>End Balance<\/strong> entry.<\/p>\n<h3>Balance movements<\/h3>\n<p>Column C shows all the journal types recorded in the account register, below the <strong>Opening Balance<\/strong> and above the <strong>End Balance<\/strong> entry.<br \/>\nColumn E shows the count (the number of records) of each journal type, and Column F shows the monetary amount.<\/p>\n<p>You can use these balance movement entries to track the balances throughout the date range of the report.<\/p>\n<h2>Monthly or daily opening and closing balances<\/h2>\n<p>You can use the opening and closing balances when you close a fiscal period.
