{"title":"Installments and advancements in Brazil","category":"default","creationDate":1776961629,"content":"<p>This page describes the credit card installment and advancement flows specific to Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>For a payment in installments, you receive the money for each installment as the installment is paid by the scheme. Adyen also offers advancements, which means you can get paid upfront for payments made in installments.<\/p>\n<p>Here we describe:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>The reports that you can use to track and reconcile installments.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The lifecycle of installments and refunds.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Adyen's advancements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Installments lifecycle<\/h2>\n<p>Installments payments are settled in this order:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The payment is <code>Received<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>If the payment is authorised, an <code>Authorised<\/code> journal entry is created and the payment moves from the <code>Received<\/code> header to the <code>Authorised<\/code> header in finance reports.<\/li>\n<li>The payment is captured and a <code>SentForSettle<\/code> journal entry is created. The payment moves from the <code>Authorised<\/code> header to the <code>Captured<\/code> header in finance reports.<\/li>\n<li>A <code>SettledInInstallments<\/code> journal entry is created for the payment, under the <code>Captured<\/code> header in finance reports. There will be one <code>SettledInInstallments<\/code>\u00a0journal entry for a given payment in installments, regardless of how many installments there are.<\/li>\n<li>An\u00a0<code>OpenInstallment<\/code>\u00a0journal entry is created for each installment. These entries can be seen under the <code>Installments<\/code> header in finance reports.<\/li>\n<li>For each installment, a <code>SettledInstallment<\/code> journal is created when it is settled. The amount then appears under the <code>Payable<\/code> header in reports and will be paid out to you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"reconciling-refunded-installments\">Installment refunds<\/h3>\n<p>When a payment in installments is refunded, the settlement happens in this order:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The refund is requested and a\u00a0<code>SentForRefund<\/code>\u00a0journal entry is created.<\/li>\n<li>A\u00a0<code>RefundedInInstallments<\/code>\u00a0journal entry is created when the shopper is refunded.\u00a0There will be one <code>RefundedInInstallments<\/code>\u00a0journal entry for a given payment in installments, regardless of how many installments there are. The <code>SentForRefund<\/code> journal will match the amount <code>RefundedInInstallments<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>For each installment, an <code>OpenInstallment<\/code> journal is created under the <code>Installments<\/code> header in finance reports. Each <code>OpenInstallment<\/code> journal will have a corresponding <code>RefundedInstallment<\/code> journal under the <code>Installments<\/code> header.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"installment-reports\">Installment reports and reconciliation<\/h2>\n<p>You can use reports in your <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-live.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a> to track the status of installment payments.<\/p>\n<h3>Reconcile installments<\/h3>\n<p>Use the <a href=\"\/pt\/reporting\/settlement-reconciliation\/transaction-level\/settlement-details-report\">Settlement details report<\/a> to reconcile by installment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For a summary of the installments that have been paid to your account, use the Monthly finance report in installments and the Daily finance report in installments. These reports include payments with the following statuses which you can use to track installments that have been credited to or debited from your account:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SettledInstallment<\/strong>: Credit for an installment that was settled to your account.<\/li>\n<li><strong>RefundedInstallment<\/strong>: Debit for a refunded installment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chargeback<\/strong>: Debit for an installment that was reversed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SecondChargeback<\/strong>: Debit for the unsuccessful defense of an installment that was reversed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SuspendInstallment<\/strong>: Debit for an installment that won't be settled due to a chargeback. This entry is not applicable to all kinds of advancements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"forecast-report\">Forecast installments<\/h3>\n<p>The Forecast report provides an estimation of the installments you are due to receive. The amounts provided in this report are net, and the dates indicate when you will receive the funds.<\/p>\n<p>You can access Forecast reports in your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ca-live.adyen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Customer Area<\/a>, under\u00a0<strong>Finance<\/strong>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<strong>Forecast<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sc-notice note\"><div>\n<p>Due to refunds and chargebacks, the amounts provided in this report can be different from the amount that is paid to your account.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SettledInInstallments<\/strong>: Amount due to be settled to you from installments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>RefundedInInstallments<\/strong>: Amount due to be refunded by you from installments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>OpenInstallment<\/strong>: Installments that were open in this month or day. This includes Capture (positive) installments and Refund (negative) installments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SettledInstallment<\/strong>: Amount that has been settled from installments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>RefundedInstallment<\/strong>: Amount that has been refunded from installments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"payment-accounting-report\">Track the status of open installments<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"\/pt\/reporting\/invoice-reconciliation\/payment-accounting-report\">payment accounting report<\/a> is where you can track the status of open installments. This can also be used for forecasting. Make sure that you have the <strong>Payout Date<\/strong>, *<strong>Installments (PC)<\/strong>, <strong>Installment<\/strong> and <strong>Booking Type<\/strong> columns enabled or contact our <a href=\"https:\/\/ca-test.adyen.com\/ca\/ca\/contactUs\/support.shtml?form=other\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" class=\"external-link no-image\">Support Team<\/a> to enable them.<\/p>\n<p>Use the following entries to track the status of an open installment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Payout Date<\/strong>: Date the installment is due to be paid to your account.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Installments (PC)<\/strong>: Amount that has been credited to your account. If the number is negative the amount has been debited for a refund.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Installments<\/strong>: The sequence number of the installment. For example,\u00a0<strong>2\/6<\/strong>\u00a0would refer to installment 2 of 6.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Booking Type<\/strong>: Type of open installment. Possible values are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>FIRST<\/strong>: Installment that has been captured and sent to the scheme.<\/li>\n<li><strong>ACCELL<\/strong>: Installment that was accelerated due to a refund request on the payment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>REPRESENTMENT<\/strong>: Installment that resulted in a chargeback, and a defense was made.<\/li>\n<li><strong>RETRY<\/strong>: Installment <a href=\"\/pt\/online-payments\/capture\/failure-reasons\">capture failed<\/a> the first time and is being retried.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information on this report, refer to our <a href=\"\/pt\/reporting\/invoice-reconciliation\/payment-accounting-report\">Payment accounting report<\/a>\u00a0documentation.<\/p>\n<h2>Advancements<\/h2>\n<p>You can choose to be paid with advancements if you want to receive funds upfront for payments made in installments. This means you do not have to wait for the installments to be paid.
