ShopperDNA is an approach to link transactions across sessions. Using advanced linking algorithms, ShopperDNA trackers users across networks, devices, and online identities and ties their transactions into a single ShopperDNA profile. By using this technology, RevenueProtect builds profiles of both good and bad shoppers, aggregating their behavior across Adyen's network. ShopperDNA rules are risk checks that use this concept of a shopper to track behavior and velocities. As such, these rules are dynamic and can continue to be effective even as fraudsters attempt to circumvent detection.
An abandonment of the shopper after redirecting to a payment method or 3D Secure is counted as an attempt and adds to the count for ShopperDNA rules. Not all of these abandoned attempts can be found in the payment list since this list only contains authorized and refused payments.
