Board the terminal - e355

Before you begin

  • Ensure the e355 is fully charged. To charge the terminal, leave it plugged in to the powered USB cable until the led indicator remains lit.
  • Board the terminal only after successfully following the steps in Prerequisites - e355 . 
  • Choose the boarding method for your terminal.

You can board using:

  • The Adyen POS App: Board the terminal with the Adyen Platform using the Adyen POS App
  • The Adyen POS App with the E355 frame: Board the terminal with the Adyen Platform using the Adyen POS App and the E355 frame
  • The Adyen customer area: Board with the Adyen Customer Area
  • Standalone mode: Board the terminal with the Adyen Platform in standalone mode
  • Custom integrations:  Board the terminal with custom integrations

Steps

  1. Hold  confirm  9 to enter the settings menu.

  2. Enter the admin PIN code (If you don't know this code, contact the Adyen POS Support Team).
    The terminal displays the admin menu.
  3. Press 1. Network.
  4. Press 2. Wifi.
  5. Press 3TCP/IP settings to view and make a note of the terminal's IP address.
  6. Download and install the Adyen POS App from iTunes or the Google Play Store.

Board the terminal with the Adyen Platform using the Adyen POS App and the E355 frame

  1. Attach a tablet to the Frame.
  2. Download and Install the Adyen POS App from iTunes.
  3. If the E355 is turned on, turn it off.
  4. Insert the e355 into the frame.
  5. Turn on the e355.
    The e355 displays the message: "Board the terminal".
  6. Open the Adyen POS App on the mobile device.

Board with an Android device

  1. Open the Adyen POS App.
  2. Enter your account details. These were provided in the registration email of your merchant account. If you do not have these, please email the Adyen POS Support Team.
  3. Tap .
  4. Tap Payment device.
  5. The app will prompt to select between Bluetooth and WiFi connection.
  6.  Enter the IP address of your terminal and tap Add Device.
  7. The Adyen POS App identifies the terminal, synchronizes with the Adyen platform, and verifies the terminal configuration.
  8. The terminal restarts.
  9. Upon restart, the terminal is boarded and ready to use.

Board with an iOS device

  1. Open the Adyen POS App on the mobile device.
  2. Tap the   icon.
  3. Tap the '+' at the top of the Payment device popup menu.
  4. Enter the device hostname or IP.
  5. The device will now be listed in the Payment device menu with the status "Not Boarded".
  6. Tap the name of the device. The device displays a message saying the device is not configured, with options to Cancel or Board device.
  7. Tap Board Device.
  8. The terminal begins boarding and restarts.
  9. Upon restart, the terminal is boarded and ready to be used.

Board with the Adyen Customer Area

  1. Log in to the Customer Area with your credentials.
  2. Open the Point-of-Sale menu.
  3. Search your terminal serial number in the Terminal Fleet Manager.
  4. Go to the Terminal Detail page.
  5. Assign the terminal to a merchant account by selecting a merchant code from the dropdown menu.
  6. Select a webservice user and assign the terminal.
  7. Enter the one-time password from the terminal detail page on the terminal to board the terminal.
  8. After rebooting, the terminal will receive the merchant configuration, and you can begin processing payments.

Board the terminal with the Adyen Platform in standalone mode

Board the terminal using the Adyen POS App once to register it to our Adyen platform and configure it for standalone mode. From there you can continue to use the terminal in standalone mode, without the use of the Adyen POS App or our integrations.
