One-off online payments with a shopper choosing to store or not store their payment details, or paying with stored details.

A payment to sign up for a subscription, or subsequent subscription payments.

A payment to accept terms and conditions for subsequent irregular charges, or the subsequent payments.

Transactions to validate a shopper's account details.

If the above options do not fit your business model, you might be processing transactions of the following types:

Mail-order and telephone-order transactions where the shopper provides you with order and payment details by regular mail, fax, or telephone.

Point-of-sale transactions where the shopper is physically present to make a payment using a secure payment terminal.

A transaction initiated by you to adjust an initial, pre-authorized amount, or to extend the validity of the authorization.

Payments where the card was issued outside of Europe or where the country/region you are acquiring from is outside of Europe.

Payments made with a card that can only be identified by the issuing bank. For example, a prepaid card or a gift card.
