Authorization adjustment
When the final transaction amount changes after the initial authorization, you can incrementally increase the authorized amount on the existing transaction. This allows you to perform one consolidated capture of the total amount.
Authorization adjustment is supported under these conditions:
- Cash App Pay only supports an increase in incremental authorization.
- Disable auto-capture, because authorization adjustment requires manual capture.
- We support synchronous authorization adjustment, not asynchronous authorization adjustment.
- To access the authorization adjustment feature, request manual approval from Cash App via Adyen.
Chargebacks
Shoppers can initiate chargebacks directly with Cash App Pay up to 120 days after the payment, cancellation, or expected receipt of goods or services. When Cash App Pay opens a dispute, the funds are charged back, and you have 13 days to defend the dispute. If you do not respond within 13 days, the dispute is lost in favor of the shopper. If you do respond within 13 days and win the dispute, the funds are returned to you.
For guidelines when a dispute is raised, see Cash App Pay chargebacks.
