When reporting issues regarding your front-end integrations, our Support team may ask you for a HAR (HTTP Archive) file. This file can be generated by your browser, and contains a record of network requests for a webpage.
With this file, we can help you diagnose issues with Drop-in or Components, such as problems with rendering or performance.
Here we explain how to generate a HAR file using the following browsers:
HAR files contain sensitive data. This can include cookies, and information that you download or submit during recording (including passwords and credit card numbers). Before sending a HAR file to Adyen, you should remove any sensitive information from the file, or encrypt it.
Google Chrome
- Open your payments page (the page with Drop-in or Components) in Google Chrome.
- Right-click on the page, and select Inspect.
- Select the Network tab.
- Make sure that:
- The Record button (in the upper left corner of the tab) is red.
If it is grey, click Record to start recording your browser's network activity. - Preserve log is checked.
- The Record button (in the upper left corner of the tab) is red.
- Click the Clear button to flush out any existing network logs.
- Reproduce the issue.
- Once you have reproduced the issue, right-click anywhere in the grid that shows the network requests, and select Save as HAR with Content.
- Save the HAR file to your computer.

Remove any sensitive information from the HAR file, then send it to our Support Team.
If you are not sure how to remove sensitive information from the HAR file, send the following to our Support Team instead:
- A password protected zip file, containing the HAR file.
- Your email address. Our Support team will contact you at this email address to get the password for the zipped file.
Firefox
- Open your payments page (the page with Drop-in or Components) in Firefox.
- Right-click on the page, and select Inspect element.
- Select the Network tab.
Firefox automatically starts recording when you perform actions in the browser. - Once you have reproduced the issue, right-click anywhere under the File column, and click on Save All as HAR.
- Save the HAR file to your computer.

Remove any sensitive information from the HAR file, then send it to our Support Team.
If you are not sure how to remove sensitive information from the HAR file, send the following to our Support Team instead:
- A password protected zip file, containing the HAR file.
- Your email address. Our Support team will contact you at this email address to get the password for the zipped file.
Safari
- Open your payments page (the page with Drop-in or Components) in Safari.
- Open the Develop menu, and select Show Web Inspector.
If you do not see the Develop menu in the menu bar, go to Safari > Preferences, select Advanced, then select Show Develop menu in menu bar.
- Select the Network tab.
- Reproduce the issue.
- Click Export on the right side of the network tab.
- Save the HAR file to your computer.

Internet Explorer
- Open your payments page (the page with Drop-in or Components) in Internet Explorer.
- Press F12 on your keyboard to open the developer tools.
- Select the Network tab.
- Reproduce the issue.
- Click the Save button.
- Select .har as the file type, and click Save to save the HAR file to your computer.

Edge
- Open your payments page (the page with Drop-in or Components) in Edge.
- Press F12 on your keyboard to open the developer tools.
- Reproduce the issue.
- Press CTRL + S on your keyboard to export the network requests as a HAR file.
- Save the HAR file to your computer.
