Reconciling payouts ensures your internal records match the movement of funds from Adyen to your users' bank accounts. Depending on your business model, you can reconcile at a high level for auditing or at a granular level to show your users the specific transactions included in their payouts.

Payout amount and reconciliation
The accuracy and ease of reconciliation depend on the logic used to calculate the payout amount.
By default, Adyen pays out the available balance, which accounts for pending risks like future refunds. This can result in payout totals that do not perfectly match your recently settled sales.
To simplify reconciliation, you can choose to pay out the current balance, which is the full sum of settled funds. In this setup, Adyen uses your reserve account to cover potential risks, ensuring the payout amount matches your settled transaction totals in the Payout report.
For more information, see Payout amount calculation.
Reconciliation strategies
The following subsections explain the strategies that Adyen recommends to help you reconcile your payouts.
Using the Payout report
The Payout report is the primary tool for platforms using managed payouts or custom scheduled payouts. It provides a 1:1 mapping between a payout transfer and the individual payments, refunds, and adjustments that make up the payout.
Reconciling on-demand payouts and cashouts
Custom on-demand payouts and cashouts are not part of an automated batch cycle, so they are not included in the Payout report. To reconcile these transfers:
- Include a unique reference in your API request.
- Use the Accounting report to filter by that reference and confirm the final Booked status and value date.
Real-time synchronization
To automate your reconciliation, subscribe to payout webhooks. These provide immediate updates on the status of a payout, so you can react to successful payouts or returns without downloading reports.
