The French Monetary and Financial Code (CMF) regards your platform as an intermediary if you offer Adyen financial products (Business accounts, Capital, or Issuing) to French users.
In France, intermediation is a regulated activity that requires you to register with ORIAS, the organization that is in charge of the French registry of intermediaries in insurance, banking, and finance.
Requirements
Before you begin, take into account the following requirements and limitations.

Proof of professional capacity
When you register with ORIAS, you are required to provide proof of professional capacity of at least one of your organization's directors.
The director's proof of professional capacity must show experience, a diploma, or training relevant for the financial products to be offered. This proof can be either of the following:
- A certificate of employment showing at least six months of experience in the past two years with providing similar financial products.
- A relevant diploma. This can be:
- A diploma under the Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles (RNCP) category NSF 122, 128, 313, or 314, levels 7 to 5.
- A diploma from a business school registered with the French Ministry of Education.
- A similar foreign diploma officially recognized by France Education International.
- A certificate from an approved training organization showing at least 20 hours of training in the financial products to be offered.
The director should not be subject to:
- The convictions mentioned in Article L500-1 of the CMF: convictions for a felony, a sentence of imprisonment, or a suspended imprisonment of six months or more for certain listed offences.
- Disciplinary sanctions no. 3 or 7 mentioned in Article L612-41 of the CMF: a prohibition to carry out certain intermediation operations and any other limitations in the exercise of this activity, or a prohibition of intermediation activities.
Register as an intermediary
To be allowed to offer Adyen financial products, you have to register with ORIAS as a:
- Level I IOBSP intermediary if your Nomenclature des Activités Françaises (NAF) code is NAF 64.19 Z or NAF 64.92 Z
- Level II IOBSP intermediary if your NAF code is NAF 66.22Z or NAF 66.19.99.
- Level III IOBSP intermediary if the above NAF codes do not apply.
It usually takes less than two months for ORIAS to validate and accept your registration. After your initial registration as an intermediary, you must renew your registration every year before it expires.

Gather the following documents (in PDF, JPG, or PNG format), which you will need to upload to ORIAS in a later step:

Proof of registration with the French Chamber of Commerce. This is referred to as a kbis extract. The extract must be less than three months old.

Proof of professional capacity of at least one of your organization's directors.

If you do not have an ORIAS account yet, create an account on the ORIAS website, selecting Personne morale and providing the details of one of your organization's directors.

Log in to your ORIAS account and proceed as follows:
- Select the category Activité IOB and the subcategory Mandataire non-exclusif en opérations de banque et en services de paiement.
- Select the following:
- Je déclare que l'on ne me confie pas de fonds to indicate that no funds are entrusted to you.
- Accessoire to indicate that offering financial products is not your organization's primary activity.
- Oui if your organization offers Adyen Capital.
- Provide the kbis extract and the proof of professional capacity of one of your organization's directors.
- Provide Adyen with your SIREN number and legal name so that Adyen can issue your Attestation de Mandat (mandate) and send it to you.
You can resume the registration process on the ORIAS website when you have received the mandate. - Upload your Attestation de Mandat to ORIAS.
- Pay the fees.
