Release notes - iOS 1.16.1

We're pleased to announce a new iOS library that makes integration with our Payment Terminals quicker and easier.

New functionality

TXStore to record transaction details on a payment device for later retrieval

The TxStore allows a POS to retrieve all details from a previous transaction. For example receipts, or final state. This is allows a POS to recover the final transaction state in a rare case of lost connection between POS and payment device, or to reprint a receipt.

Improved functionality

Download firmware in background

Improved support for downloading payment device firmware in the background. Installation of firmware takes several reboots of the PED. The iOS device could block this process.

Dynamic framework

The iOS library is now a dynamic framework. Bundle resources are contained within a single *.framework package.

Documentation

We've improved the included API Reference documentation included in the package with the library.

Removed functionality

Removed barcode scanning functionality. A dedicated barcode scanning library is available at https://github.com/Adyen/adyen-barcoder-ios. The new Barcoder app is not compatible with 1.15 lib. The compatibility issue is confirmed to be fixed in lib 1.16.

Our barcode scanning library is compatible with terminal firmware versions 1_17p19 and later.

Fixed issues

  • Adyen library may cause crashes on the application startup.
  • Boarding and communication issues with Miura payment devices.

Known issues

  • Barcode:
       - Known issue: when you change the e315M terminal release to V14, an extra reboot is needed to activate the barcode scanner
  • Verifone MFi issue:
       - E355: the "Enter" button is not working when the terminal is inside of the sleeve. When you remove terminal from the sleeve, the "Enter" button works.
       - Unstable power supply (using the USB hub to charge) would more easily lead to a MiFi disconnection issue between iOS device and e315M.
