We're pleased to announce a new family of libraries and support features to integrate with our payment terminals. The libraries, COM for Windows, Java Native Interface and C, are built on the same core application. This allows merchants operating on Windows, Linux, or OSX based POS systems to integrate with Adyen's payment terminals. The updated libraries also work with all Adyen's mobile and countertop PIN entry devices.
New functionality
MOTO transaction
Implement a new TenderOption – MOTO – in order to trigger MOTO transactions on the payment terminal from the Cash register.
New API for gift cards integration
The current API implementing load, balance inquiry, redeem is deprecated and will be removed from the libraries in July 2018.
The merchants that are using the existing methods will need to change their integration to use the CreateSpecialTender method in order to trigger gift card transactions.
Review the detailed documentation for integrating gift cards:
- Start gift cards transactions with COM
- Start gift cards transactions with JNI
- Start gift cards transactions with C
The new gift cards API is supported in firmware starting from v1.29 for EVO terminals and v1.24 for VOS terminals.
Updated example applications
With this release, we have updated the following example applications:
- COM example application, which now implements Alipay and gift cards transactions.
- JNI example application, which now implements referenced refunds, Alipay, and gift cards transactions.
