Release notes - Library V1.14

We're pleased to announce a new family of libraries and support features to integrate with our payment terminals. The libraries, COM for Windows, Java Native Interface and C, are built on the same core application. This allows merchants operating on Windows, Linux, or OSX based POS systems to integrate with Adyen's payment terminals. The updated libraries also work with all Adyen's mobile and countertop PIN entry devices.

New functionality

Cashback and cashout for EFTPOS

Cashback and cashout are now supported for EFTPOS transactions.

  • Initiate a cashback transaction with the transaction type GOODS_SERVICES_WITH_CASHBACK. Include the amount of the cashback in the cashbackAmount field of the additional data object.
  • Initiate a cashout transaction with the transaction type CASHOUT.

New error codes "Cashback not supported" and "Cashout not supported" have also been introduced.

Cashback and cashout transactions are supported by EVO terminals with firmware v1.30 or later. Support for VOS terminals and other schemes will be added in the near future.

Skip AID priority

You can now use the tender option SkipAIDPriority to skip a card's application identifier (AID) priority. This allows a shopper to select their preferred card application.

Improved functionality

Partial refund retries

For a variety of reasons, a partial refund may fail, for example if the amount has not been captured, or the merchant account doesn't have funds. In this instance, partial refunds now will be rescheduled and retried. In a case of delayed capture, the partial refund will be rescheduled and retried after the capture.

You can find the documentation for partial refunds here:

Final state UNKNOWN

When there is a communication issue between the POS terminal and the library, the final state will now be reported as UNKNOWN in the library.

Fixed issues

  • Fixed an issue that could cause the library token to be lost when there was a communication failure.
