Learn about pricing and settlement services for Pay by Bank on adyen.com.

Pay by Bank (Europe) is based on open banking. It allows shoppers to pay from their bank through an account-to-account payment, which makes the payment experience user-friendly, secure, and cost-effective.

Adyen's Pay by Bank (Europe) solution is currently available in Germany and the United Kingdom.

When a shopper selects to pay with Pay by Bank (Europe):

  1. The shopper is redirected to our open banking partner Tink in one of the following ways:

    • Immediately: the shopper is redirected to Tink immediately, and selects their bank from a list shown by Tink.
    • Issuer selection first: the shopper selects their bank from a list shown in your payment form, and is then redirected to Tink.
This option is supported in the UK. In Germany however, there are so many banks that you cannot let the shopper pre-select their bank.
  2. Tink redirects the shopper to the bank's website or mobile app, to complete the payment.

  3. After the payment is completed, the shopper is redirected back to your website or app.
